Our trip today took us from John Day to Vale, Or in 11hr and some odd minutes. Was beautiful weather again, except for strong headwinds most of the way. There were 4 major climbs, 2 above 5000 feet and 2 in the 4000 plus range. No accidents. No injuries. Did manage to stop at a couple of small town general stores to visit for a few minutes and take on more water. Most of the afternoon was spent in very rural country with tiny towns scattered along the way.
All feel well and ready to head to Idaho tomorrow. We will be climbing the entire 122 miles.

Yikes - 11 hours sounds like a LONG day. Sorry about the head winds, but glad everyone is staying healthy and you're able to keep on schedule. Tomorrow you can say "One state down" - keep on truckin'
ReplyDeleteOuch ! My god did you say eleven hours on the carbon horse ? You guys are unbelievable...Every day more people are asking and followings your journey. It sounds like Letterman will be looking for you in New York. Keep it up one day at a time. How many cases of Butt creme did you order...? Have a great day tomorrow. Big D is looking out for us.
ReplyDeleteLove the updates, it is the highlight of my day. I can almost hear Dan talking in some of the comments. I can't imagine doing anything for 11 hours straight, much less on a bike. What an inspiration to all.

Hey again! I guess you are heading for Wyoming instead of Montana. Watch out for things that slither and bite along the road. Your blog is so very interesting. Checking in on it has become part of the daily routine. Stay safe. Rose and John Worlein
