Glad to hear Dave is doing alright. So sorry to hear he is going home. Tell him he is in our prayers. We arrive tomorrow night and will miss seeing him but he will be more comfortable at home. Everyone have a safe ride and see you tomorrow in New Ulm. Debbie & Eric
Sad to hear of the fall. Mend quickly. We will save some fresh air in MN for you all. No 114.8 degrees! Best of luck as you approach God's Country. No uphill mountains either. Dick B
Dave, it is so disappointing to read that you went down but a relief to hear that you are OK and will be out of the hospital this morning. I am very sorry to hear that you are not able to finish on your bike. I would think in your legendary bicycle arsenal you could find a three wheel recumbent that would allow you to continue pedaling your way to the east coast without putting pressure on your collar bone. I wish you all well and pray this was the last mishap. God Bless!
Dave, I so know what it feels like to fall, I'm so sorry that it had to happen in the middle of this tremedous journey. Hand in there and take care of yourself. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I'm SOOO sorry to hear about your "stupid" collarbone fracture. I can only imagine how disappointed you must be to have to drop out of this adventure at this point. I am thankful it wasn't worse, but know that is little consolation right now. Take care and mend fast - I'm sure you'll be back on that bike before long. I'll see the rest of you guys in Zumbrota and again in Wabasha. We'll have to figure out a way to pamper Julie again - she deserves it! Be safe and see you all soon.
Hey Dave, So sorry to hear that you crashed & broke your collar bone & will not be able to finish. I've been following the daily blog & from the way you were going I'm sure you would have finished. I was going to call you today on Julie's cell phone but I don't have her #. I'll try to reach you when you get back to Austin.
So sorry about the big digger!! Glad also it wasn't worse. DQ always solves problems or at least helps anyone feel better according to Butch. He has DQ radar! The "boys were racing?" Still young at heart and mind!
Dave, you know, always have liked to ride fast...., so as sad as it is to hear about your crash, at least you did it in style - racing for ice cream...! Seriously, I kwow you were well prepared for the trek, had strong legs and could ride "forever".... ...so if you want to do it again, let me know, maybe I'd join you... The rest of you guys, keep it up and hopefully I'll see you at one of the stops in MN...
AH, Dave. I am soooo sorry to read about the fall. I am sure you're frustrated not to finish but we are certainly all happy to hear that you're doing okay. I, too, recover more quickly via DQ therapy! Keep the good spirits and the boys will finish in your honor!!
Julie, if the route through Faribault changes – just let me know. We can meet up anywhere that fits your travel plans.
Dad – and the rest of the crew – please be safe! XOXO – Katie Dillon
Hi all you bikers, Sorry to hear of your misfortune Dave...you other guys be careful!!! Marc and I have enjoyed reading about your adventure, bet there's many, many more fun stories to hear about!!! Julie, I'm sure you're keeping the boys in line. Will try and hit Wabasha this Sat., would love to see you all. Marc and Rhea
It has been so much fun to follow your travels. The Garmin link is awesome. Sorry to hear that the trip has been shortened for one of the team. Disappointing!!! If we weren't going up north, we'd try to come cheer you on for the next half of your trip. Love the pictures also, makes me wish I was there, but I think my bike would need a motor.
As all have said,,,sorry to hear about the mishap with the mad dash to DQ. I am sure the body will heal but not soon enough for you Dave. We also are going to try to see you in Wabasha on Saturday. Be careful on the rest of your journey to Wabasha. There is a DQ in Zumbrota and Wabasha!
Hi for and all, I read. Your blog daily. Our 275 rider bam tour arrives new ulm Friday pm...just missing you. I have told many people about your epic ride. Amazing what you are doing.
